What it does
CCC is the dominant US auto-claims network and has been since before "insurtech" existed. Founded in 1980, Chicago-based, it went public on Nasdaq in July 2021 via a SPAC merger with Dragoneer Growth Opportunities Corp, ticker CCC.
Business footprint. The CCC ONE platform connects 300+ insurance carriers with 25,000+ repair facilities, OEMs, parts suppliers, and adjacent data/service providers. Publicly cited carrier customers include State Farm, GEICO, Allstate, Nationwide, Liberty Mutual, Progressive, and USAA — i.e. most of the US personal-auto top tier. Allstate specifically uses CCC's "Open Shop" solution for repair assignment.
AI layer. CCC has progressively added AI-driven estimate generation, photo-based triage, and workflow automation. Industry coverage in 2026 puts CCC alongside Tractable as the go-to options for computer-vision-aided damage estimation.
How to think about CCC vs. AI-native entrants. The strategic question for carriers is not "rip CCC out for Tractable"; it is "where along the claims journey does an AI-native tool replace CCC, and where does it sit on top of CCC?" Most deployments we see in public materials are complementary: Tractable or similar for first-notice triage, CCC ONE for estimatics and shop settlement.
Live litigation exposure. CCC ONE's total-loss valuation methodology is under class-action challenge. For carriers evaluating CCC's black-box features, that is a material risk factor: the Sixth Circuit upheld class certification in an adjacent Tennessee case in October 2025.

Known limitations
- CCC ONE's total-loss valuation methodology is under active class-action litigation in Alabama (Goode v. State Farm, 2025) and in Tennessee/North Carolina (Brewer v. State Farm), alleging systematic under-valuation of totaled vehicles. The Sixth Circuit upheld class certification in October 2025. (My Fair Claim)
